Fashion

As Fashion Month continues across the key fashion landmarks of New York, London, Milan and Paris, the Trendstop trend experts are hard at work analysing each and every catwalk look to identify new developments emerging in womenswear. Every aspect of fashion design is taken into consideration, from collection, colour, print and material to apparel and accessories. This week, we present FashionUnited readers with a selection of directional women's footwear trends coming through on the Fall/Winter 2016-17 runways, helping you get a step ahead with three forward yet commercially relevant updates that are predicted to influence flats, heels and boots alike. This season, designers experiment with new plays on texture and surface, while styles range between minimal cleanness and elegantly decorative. Be inspired for Fall/Winter!

Winter Textures

Women's footwear makes the transition into winter with heavyweight materials that introduce a cosy textured dimension. Chunky knit, soft fur and thick fleece enhance warmth, updating styles more commonly seen in summer like pool slides, peep-toe heels and low-cut booties.

Modern Minimalist

Shoes are stripped back with a purity of form, inspiring clean, contemporary styles with a minimal aesthetic. A key trend for boots, pristine white leathers are key in both matte and gloss finishes. Stark black detailing adds interest across soles and laces, while heeled shapes incorporate a futuristic twist with transparent panels.

Interiors Inspired

Footwear designers take inspiration from the world of interiors, introducing decorative looks to Fall/Winter styles with a play on surface and texture. Reminiscent of upholstery or wallpaper, sateen shine fabrics flourish with ornate embroidery on longline boots, while heeled styles incorporate tactile finishes or floral patterning.
