This month, Japanese fast-fashion brand Uniqlo plans to unveil their new Batik motif collection in Indonesia. A portion of the proceeds will go towards benefitting women in their factories in Indonesia.

The campaign is part of the company's ongoing project to uplift women in the garment industry in developing countries like Bangladesh and Indonesia, where Uniqlo's production takes place, and where a lot of women aren't privileged with educational opportunities.

Uniqlo has pledged to have a portion of their proceeds from select collections put towards programs to help these workers develop a range of living skills, as well as household management skills.

Indonesian Batik is a traditional textile that was included on the UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritages of Humanity in 2009 and its pattern is made up of a series of dots and lines.

The Batik collection is offered in both men's and women's styles. The Batik collection will be available beginning June 10. Price points for the collection range from 385 dollars to 513 dollars.

While other Japanese retailers saw sales declines last month, Uniqlo's May comps jumped 5.9 percent.
