Trendstop's menswear team reveal the latest looks emerging at the Paris and Berlin trade events and bring you the essential looks that will be impacting the menswear market into SS17 and beyond. This week, FashionUnited Readers get an exclusive preview of three of the key trends seen at Tranoi Homme, MAN, Seek, Bright and Premium. Out of Africa brings a new vibrancy to menswear print looks with a modern take on tribal. Transseasonal styles come to the fore as rainwear is reworked with a lightweight look for summer and sports accessories are given a luxury make-over in plush fabrications and jewel tones.

Out of Africa

Africa is the destination for SS17 as patterned shirts and swimwear reference traditional wax print techniques. Tribal geometrics and bold watermelon motifs are rendered in graphic monochrome accented with bright, punchy pops of color while all-over designs making a strong high summer statement.

Summer Rain

Protective rainwear makes the transition to summer. Anoraks and macs are reworked in semi-sheer plastic and nylon for a lightweight look and feel. Frosted white color-ways are teamed with understated silver hardware for a minimalist appeal while contrast pockets offer a more decorative option.

Velveteen Sport

Athletic accessories are infused with a new luxurious feel. Cruched velvet and velour in rich jewel tones lend sportswear classics such as baseball caps and running sneakers a tactile plushness, providing a fashion forward alternative to technical synthetics.
