British duo Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley continued their utilitarian fashion army for Marc by Marc Jacobs, and this season were inspired by William Morris prints and retro protest slogans (‘Suffragette’ and ‘Solidarity’) as seen on blouses, dresses and jerseys.

Add to the mix a combination of a 19th century print and a 20th century-style battle dress jacket and cargo trousers and a new fashion statement is made.

There were plenty commercial key items from the pinafore dresses to little jackets, printed mix jeans with zip details and bulbous coats.

But the winning pieces were the accessories: the metallic berets, designed by Judy Blame, as well as the studded boots and leather purse belts that will no doubt sell-out at retail. Hillier is notorious for her bags and accessories, often finding inspiration in Japan and East London.
