Uniqlo October same-store sales down 0.6 percent

October 2016 same-store sales including online sales at Uniqlo Japan, a part of Fast Retailing Group, decreased by 0.6 percent year on year. However, sales at its own stores increased by 0.2 percent. Total sales including online sales increased by 0.2 percent.

The company said, same-store sales declined due to persistent warm weather early in the month dampening demand for core winter items. However, it added that sales started to recover once the weather turned colder from the middle of the month onwards. The company opened 10 stores and closed seven stores during the month under review.
