The Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI), a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and nurturing Canadian fashion designers and entrepreneurs, has announced a new global initiative in partnership with London Fashion Week to host in the UK for the first time.

The event in collaboration with the High Commission of Canada to the UK, will take place during London Fashion Week on February 15 at Canada House, with the aim of providing international exposure for Canada’s emerging apparel and accessory designers on the global stage.

The event follows on from the success of its seasonal Toronto Fashion Incubator press and buyers brunch and tradeshow, and will mark the first time ever the biannual event has gone international.

The event will replace the Toronto Fashion Incubator New Labels Competition, which historically focused on local engagement and is currently on hiatus. The expansion of the TFI Press and Buyers Brunch and Tradeshow offers Canadian talent an opportunity to communicate their brands to an international audience.

"Thanks to the High Commission of Canada to the United Kingdom, we are beyond thrilled to receive this exceptional opportunity to showcase Canadian fashion talent abroad," said Toronto Fashion Incubator executive director, Susan Langdon. "We are extremely grateful to receive support that will enable one of TFI's signature events to debut during London Fashion Week.”

Applications for Canadian apparel and accessory designers interested in participating in Toronto Fashion Incubator autumn/winter 2018 Press and Buyers Tradeshow are open until January 3, 2018.
