In a first-look story for Fashion United, this week's influential trend is The Woodland Camou. Across menswear and womenswear alike, we see how camouflage patterns are transformed with natural elements, evoking a wintry feel of the great outdoors. The Woodland Camou is just one of the dozens of trends Trendstop will be covering in our upcoming Fall 2016 Trend Forecast Presentation which we will be hosting live online next month.

The Woodland Camou

Classic camou is revamped with a play on linear contouring, forming inspiring patterns made up of fluid, marbled and rounded shapes. Surfaces are updated with an intrepid 'Great Escape' dimension, as all-over applications produce the impression of mountain ranges or landscapes seen from a great height. Subdued colourways enhance winter-conscious with icy whites and cool greys, creating impact when paired with tonal separates.

This season, camou prints are influenced by natural minerals found in the wilderness, as grainy, speckled patterns create mottled effects that resemble earthy textures. Muted colourways are key in various shades of grey, lending a contemporary sophistication to Fall/Winter products. Top-to-toe stylings make a modern statement, while striped patterns contrast printed bands with plain for a directional sports look.
