New York - No one is letting Apple have the sole monopoly on the smartwatch. Swatch's CEO Nick Hayek was quoted saying to Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger "Our product is called Touch Zero One and that gives enough room for Zero Five, Zero Nine. The Touch Zero One is not the end of the progression." While the plan is only so concrete plan, it is clear that Swatch is going to keep going until they are running neck and neck with Apple for smartwatch customers.

Next year at the 2016 Olympic games, Swatch will introduce the Touch Zero Two at next year's Olympic Games. Swatch takes a very different approach to their smartwatches from Apple, however. Instead of having an all-in-one function smartwatch, each of Swatch's smartwatches serves a different function.

Some of their smartwatches can track how far runners travel and others can track how many hits a volleyball players make. Next year, Swatch is planning to launch a watch with a "near field communication" chip. The smartwatch market is getting increasingly competitive, and 2016 looks like it will be a battle of the titans.
