The nominees for this year’s 2015 CFDA Award have been finalized, and it is quite the playing field.

In the Womenswear Designer of the Year category we have Joseph Altuzarra for Altuzarra, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough for Proenza Schouler, and Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen for The Row. In the Menswear Designer of the Year category are Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne for Public School, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright for Rag & Bone, Thom Browne, Tim Coppens, and Tom Ford.

As for Accessory Designer of the Year, we have Alexander Wang, Irene Neuwirth, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler, Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen for The Row, and Tabitha Simmons. The Swarovski Awards for emerging talent, which come with the bonus of financial support, has numerous designers in the playing field as well. The nominees include Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne for Public School, Rosie Assoulin, and Ryan Roche in the women’s wear category. Shayne Oliver for Hood by Air, Alex Orley, Matthew Orley and Samantha Orley for Orley, and Ariel and Shimon Ovadia for Ovadia & Sons are nominated for the men’s wear award. For accessory design, the nominees are Paul Andrew, Eva Zuckerman for Eva Fehren, and Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel for Mansur Gavriel.

The Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award will be going to Betsey Johnson. Instagram will be making history by receiving the Media Award in Honor of Eugene Shepard. This will mark the first time the award has not gone to a person.

J.Crew CEO Mickey Drexler will be taking home the Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert, and Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, the creative directors of Valentino, will be taking home the International Award.

The awards ceremony will take place on June 1st at Alice Tully Hall. The host for the event has yet to be revealed, but given the all star line-up of designers up for awards it doesn’t seem like this ceremony will disappoint.
