Puma partners with French sprinter Jimmy Vicaut

Sportswear brand Puma has signed a long-term partnership with French sprinter Jimmy Vicaut. The company said, current European 100m record holder will wear Puma both on and off the track and will appear in marketing campaigns for the brand.

Commenting on the development, Björn Gulden, CEO of Puma said in a statement, “Puma has a long history of working with the fastest athletes in the world and our new partnership with Jimmy Vicaut will help us continue this tradition. We look forward to working closely with him as he prepares for the major competitions to come.”

The company added in the statement that 25 year old Vicaut established himself as one of the world’s best sprinters by reaching the 100m final at this year’s IAAF World Championships in London and last year’s Olympic Games in Rio. He has also run under 10 seconds for the 100m a total of 19 times in his career. Vicaut holds an impressive PB of 9.86 seconds, which ranks him among the 20 fastest sprinters of all time and is the current European Record.

Vicaut, a former European indoor champion over 60m and former medalist at World Junior championships, is expected to win the Gold Medal at the European Championships in Berlin 2018.
