Skechers: former Snipes CEO Dennis Schröder is new head of EMEA region
US footwear provider Skechers has a new head for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. In a post on the business network Linkedin, Dennis Schröder announced that he has been working as general manager EMEA for the brand since the beginning of September. Trade magazine Textilwirtschaft (TW) had previously reported on the appointment.
According to his own statement, Schröder is now responsible at Skechers for “58 countries, more than 6,500 colleagues, over 1,000 stores, a fast-growing online business and two major logistics centres” in the region.
Schröder led sportswear chain Snipes until spring
Schröder joins from retail chain Snipes, which belongs to the Deichmann Group and which he led as CEO from 2024 until spring. Most recently, he held an advisory role there. Prior to his time at Snipes, he worked for companies including 11Teamsports, Puma and Nike.
In May, German sportswear provider Puma SE introduced Schröder as its designated head of Europe. According to a statement published in May, he was due to take over the role of managing director Europe in August. However, according to a report by TW, he never took up this post. Instead, Puma filled the position with former Nike manager Fokko de Rooi, who has been in office since October 1.
Skechers was delisted from the stock exchange in September 2025 following its acquisition by financial investor 3G Capital and has no longer reported regularly on its business performance since then. In the US, the trainer specialist is now the second-largest footwear brand measured by pairs sold, according to its own figures.
At the same time, Skechers is continuing to focus on expansion in the EMEA region, which achieved strong sales growth according to the latest available figures from last year. To support this momentum, the company recently built a new logistics centre in Belgium, among other initiatives.
