Timberland names Chris McGrath Vice President, Global Footwear Design

Industry veteran Chris McGrath has been appointed Vice President, Global Footwear Design at Timberland, the VF Corporation brand best known for its outdoor yellow boots. McGrath will lead Timberland’s footwear design strategy across men’s, women’s and kid’s, working closely with the brand’s new Creative Director, Christopher Raeburn, and reporting to CEO Jim Pisani.

“He will lead a talented team of designers, working in close partnership with global merchandising and product development teams”, said the company in a statement. “He will also lead accessories design, and collaborate with the apparel design team to ensure a holistic design approach, head to toe”.

McGrath is joining Timberland from Pentland Brands, the British company which owns Speedo, Berghaus, Canterbury of New Zealand and SeaVees, among other brands. He has also held senior roles at Puma, Clarks, Nike, Speedo and McLaren Formula 1.
