Alohas advances global expansion with new stores in Paris and San Francisco
Madrid – Barcelona-based fashion brand Alohas specialises in menswear and womenswear footwear. Following the launch of its first handbag collection last May, it has also expanded into accessories. The brand remains focused on its determined international expansion strategy. This roadmap has just seen its latest development with the launch of two new permanent stores in France and the United States.
Beginning with the Spanish fashion brand's latest offensive on the European physical retail scene, Alohas has announced the launch of a new store in France this September. This follows the opening of its first store in Austria at the end of August, located at 8 Brandstätte street in Vienna, the capital of the Central European country. France is a particularly key market for the company, which was founded and is managed by Alejandro Porras, who continues as chief executive officer of Alohas. The brand has expanded its presence there with the opening of a boutique at 80 Rue des Saints-Pères in Paris.
Alohas now has a total of two of its own permanent physical stores in the city. The new Rue des Saints-Pères location joins the one opened almost a year ago at 75 Rue Vieille du Temple in Paris. This was the first permanent physical store for Alohas in the French capital. The brand has been operating with its own physical space there since September 2024, when the Barcelona-based company arrived in Paris with a pop-up at 120 Rue Vieille du Temple. This served as a prelude to the company's subsequent process of establishing a firm foothold in the Parisian retail scene.
Founded in 2015 by the young entrepreneur Alejandro Porras in Barcelona, Alohas started as a digitally native brand specialising in an on-demand production and sales model. The company has ingeniously transferred this model to the physical retail scene. Alohas made the leap from online to physical retail with the opening of its first store in Barcelona in April 2024.
In Europe, this opening was followed by the inauguration of Alohas boutiques in major European fashion capitals. The Barcelona-based brand currently operates in the region through more than 170 points-of-sale. This includes nine brand stores spread across Amsterdam; Barcelona; Madrid; Copenhagen; London; Milan; Vienna and Paris. Paris is the only city in the world, along with New York, where Alohas now has two brand stores.
“Paris has been a key city for Alohas since our beginnings, and the response to our first store confirmed the brand's connection with the Parisian public,” said Alejandro Porras, founder and CEO of Alohas, in a statement shared by the Barcelona-based footwear brand. “Opening a second location, this time in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, consolidates our presence in the city and brings us closer to a new community,” now residing on the “Rive Gauche” of the Seine as it flows through Paris.
With 12 permanent brand stores; 10 international
In parallel with this opening, Alohas has also announced the inauguration of the brand's first permanent physical store in San Francisco. The Barcelona-based brand is thus making its debut in the city with the opening of a retail space at 2208 Fillmore Street. This is a picturesque shopping street in the city's urban centre, where Alohas now has a street-level store, sharing the retail scene with brands such as Lululemon, Cuyana and Eileen Fisher.
With this opening, and not including the pop-up space the brand maintains in Los Angeles, Alohas now has its third permanent store in the United States. The San Francisco location joins the two stores in New York City, at 260 Elizabeth St. and 400 Bleecker Street. These stores are part of a global retail network that, following these openings, reaches a total of 12 permanent Alohas brand boutiques, 10 of which are international. The count rises to 13 permanent stores, 11 international, if the Los Angeles pop-up is included. This pop-up opened last May 2026 at 1410 Abbot Kinney Boulevard in the Venice neighbourhood.
“San Francisco represents the type of city we want to be in very well: international, creative and open to new ways of consuming,” said Porras, highlighting that “the United States is one of our strategic markets.” He added, “This opening is an important step in our expansion. It is also an opportunity to build a closer relationship with our local community and allow them to discover Alohas in a much more complete way.” The Barcelona-based brand added that with both the Paris and San Francisco openings, Alohas “continues to develop its international network of stores and strengthen its physical presence in key cities, complementing its on-demand production business model with a growing commitment to retail.”
