EME Studios lands in Amsterdam with a pop-up

Madrid – Spanish fashion brand EME Studios is advancing its international growth strategy with the opening of its first physical retail space in the Netherlands. The brand entered the market this Friday, October 16, with the launch of a pop-up store in Amsterdam.

Located at 180 Kalverstraat in Amsterdam, the store is situated on the main commercial thoroughfare of the Dutch capital. In this retail setting, EME Studios has arrived to compete with its fashion and accessories offering against other top-tier operators, both established and emerging. These include popular and well-known fashion brands and chains such as H&M; Zara; JD Sports; Hollister; Levi’s; and fellow Spanish brand Scuffers. The latter competes directly with EME Studios in the market, sharing a similar aesthetic and targeting the same consumer profile. Scuffers also launched a pop-up store in Amsterdam at the end of March. This retail space remains open directly opposite the premises now occupied by EME Studios. FashionUnited previously noted that it operates with the intention of becoming a permanent fixture.

It has not been disclosed whether the EME Studios pop-up shares this ambition. However, the brand has confirmed that the store will operate as a temporary pop-up following its opening on Friday, October 16. EME Studios has not yet announced a potential closing date for the store. This suggests the closing could be postponed or brought forward depending on the commercial objectives achieved at this location. The space is the brand's first physical store in Amsterdam and the Netherlands. It will be open from 11am to 7pm, Monday to Sunday, with extended hours on Thursdays from 11am to 8pm.

Awaiting opening of its first permanent international store in London

Founded as a digital pure-play brand specialising in accessories in the Alicante town of Elche in 2017 by entrepreneur Conra Martínez, EME Studios was relaunched as a fashion brand around 2019 with the arrival of Gabriel Morón. The company closed its last financial year in 2025 with sales of approximately 33 million euros. This figure represents a +175 percent growth compared to the 12 million euros in revenue generated during the same period in 2024.

With the clear intention of scaling and cementing its financial results, the company is immersed in a carefully measured strategic plan for growth and consolidation, both nationally and internationally. This roadmap involves testing the brand's potential in key markets through pop-ups like the one in Amsterdam. Earlier this year, they opened a pop-up in New York to test the US market. The UK market has been chosen for the opening of its first permanent store outside of Spain. This first international boutique, as reported by FashionUnited last May, is scheduled to open its doors by the end of 2026.

Beyond upcoming openings, pop-up activations and its online sales channel, EME Studios currently operates a physical retail structure comprising just three of its own stores. These are located in Madrid (47 Fuencarral Street), Barcelona (14 Duc Street) and Valencia (2 Martínez Ferrando Street). These three establishments are complemented by the brand's only current outlet store in the La Roca Villa shopping centre (Barcelona), following the closure of its outlet in the Las Rozas Villa shopping centre (Madrid). This closure is likely part of both centres' policy of rotating a certain number of operators within their premises.

Summary
  • EME Studios has opened its first physical store in the Netherlands, a temporary pop-up that has opened in Amsterdam on the central and commercial Kalverstraat, as part of its international expansion strategy.
  • The Spanish brand, which had a turnover of 33 million euros in 2025, aims to use these pop-up stores to analyse key markets before considering establishing permanent points of sale.
  • Looking beyond this strategy, EME Studios plans to achieve a definitive international scale with the opening of its first permanent store outside of Spain in London before the end of 2026.
