Australia ́s Direct Group, new suitor for Woolworth ́s Ezibuy

Australia’s Direct Group has joined Direct Capital and Briscoes in New Zealand in the race to become the new owner of Woolworths’ fashion shopping website Ezibuy.

Direct Group owns sites such as Damart, The Fox Collection, Innovations, Gaiam, Entertainment Masters, Victoria Hill and Homecare.

New Zealand-based private equity and venture capital firm Direct Capital previously owned Ezibuy, from 1999 to 2002.

Adviser UBS worked with Catalyst Investment Management to sell Ezibuy to Woolworths in a for 350 million New Zealand dollars back in 2013.

As reported by ‘The Australian’, this operation is expected to set the price tag under 100 million Australian dollars, following Citi’s advice.
