Pinterest men's trend report 2026: workwear, leather and pink define the look
Pinterest was long considered a platform where women primarily sought inspiration. This image is changing. Men are increasingly claiming the platform for themselves, and not just for outfit ideas anymore. Sports, travel, hobbies, interior design and grooming; the range of topics men engage with on Pinterest has become broader than ever.
The development is particularly dynamic among young users. Searches from Gen Z have increased by 17 percent year-over-year. More than 62 percent of monthly searches from male users now come from this age group.
What is striking is not a single trend, but the sheer breadth of interests. Men are looking for ways to spend their leisure time more consciously, create spaces for social evenings or discover new hobbies. Demand for “offline hobbies” has increased by 551 percent, and “no phone ideas” grew by 581 percent. Joint activities are also gaining traction. “Running club” saw an increase of 749 percent, “Hyrox” 193 percent and “padel tournament” 103 percent.
What initially sounds like a pure lifestyle trend also has a distinctly fashionable side. As interest grows in how one's daily life should look and feel, the question of personal appearance also comes into sharper focus. Consequently, Pinterest data shows significant trends in workwear, leather, accessories, colour and grooming.
Workwear becomes new everyday uniform
One of the most noticeable movements revolves around functional clothing. Searches for “workwear outfit men” have increased by 314 percent, while “vintage workwear outfit men” saw an even stronger rise of 442 percent.
Individual garments with functional origins are also coming to the forefront. The M-65 field jacket is being searched for 148 percent more often, “American workwear style” 143 percent more and the French chore coat 41 percent more.
Workwear is thus increasingly detaching from its original purpose. Field jackets, sturdy jackets and chore coats are establishing themselves as fashion basics that transition effortlessly between the outdoors, leisure and the city. Other movements in the search data support this. “Trucker hat outfit mens” increased by 159 percent and “retro sneakers mens” by 31 percent.
The interplay of function and nostalgia is noteworthy here. Instead of futuristic techwear, garments whose aesthetic refers to craftsmanship, work and historical models are coming to the forefront. Menswear is thus embracing a look that is intended to appear authentic and down-to-earth, without being limited to its original purpose.
Leather becomes versatile style element
A similar pattern is emerging with leather. The material is not only making a comeback through the classic leather jacket but is also appearing in more and more areas of the male wardrobe.
Searches for “handmade leather wallet” (plus 290 percent) and “leather tote bag men” (plus 176 percent) saw particularly strong increases. “Men's leather bag” also grew by 112 percent. In accessories, leather bracelets recorded a rise of 106 percent and leather bag charms 174 percent.
Leather is also becoming more diverse in clothing itself. Searches for a cherry-red leather jacket increased by 117 percent and for a motorcycle leather jacket by 97 percent. In footwear, knee-high leather boots rose by 113 percent and leather loafers by 64 percent.
Leather is thus moving away from its classic biker association. In addition to black jackets, bags, shoes and coloured versions are now coming to the forefront. The material is becoming a unifying element in a wardrobe that can effortlessly switch between rugged, high-quality and fashionable.
Pink becomes accent in menswear
There is also more experimentation with colour, and pink is one of the most striking examples.
Searches for “pink shirt outfit men aesthetic” increased by 338 percent, while “dusty pink shirt outfit men” saw a growth of 283 percent. Pink jackets (plus 70 percent), shoes (plus 67 percent) and scarves (plus 39 percent) are also being searched for more frequently.
The aim is clearly not to completely replace the classic men's colour palette. Instead, pink is used selectively as a single element, such as a shirt, jacket, shoe or accessory. This allows an otherwise understated look to be broken up with relatively little effort.
The same pattern is evident in the beauty sector. Searches for “pink highlights men” are up by 68 percent. The colour is thus not only becoming part of clothing but is also increasingly being incorporated into personal looks through hair and styling.
Accessories gain importance
While clothing often revolves around functional or classic pieces, accessories offer significantly more room for individualisation. This is most evident in jewellery. Searches for “men chain necklace” increased by 351 percent and for “mens silver cuff bracelet” by 194 percent. Jewellery is thus increasingly becoming an independent component of male looks, rather than just an addition for special occasions.
Bags are also developing into an important style statement. “Duffle bag men” increased by 311 percent, “gym bag men” by 129 percent and “mens leather crossbody bag” by 71 percent.
This aligns with the growing importance of utilitywear. Products that were originally intended to be primarily practical are becoming visible, deliberately used components of an outfit through material, shape and styling.
Hair and beards become part of overall look
The increased focus on personal appearance is also evident in hair and beards. Interest in modern haircuts, partly inspired by East Asian and subcultural looks, is growing particularly strongly.
“Soft wolf cut men” saw an increase of 1,154 percent and “modern wolf cut men” 553 percent. “Curly wolf cut men” (plus 245 percent), “modern mullet men” (plus 223 percent) and “Korean two block haircut men” (plus 212 percent) also saw significant growth. The increase in certain beard styles is even more pronounced. Searches for “beard fade men” are up by 764 percent and for “Italian beard fade” by 725 percent.
Styling is thus increasingly considered independently of clothing. A haircut or beard can shape the character of an otherwise simple outfit just as much as a jacket or a pair of shoes.
New perspective on male consumer
The Pinterest data reveals not a single major trend, but rather an interplay of different developments. Functional clothing meets a stronger interest in materials and accessories; classic men's looks are given colour accents; and grooming is becoming a natural part of personal appearance.
These developments are not detached from other interests. The strong growth in outdoor activities, craftsmanship, travel and communal leisure activities creates a context in which workwear and utilitywear are particularly relevant. Leather, sturdy bags or functional jackets fit this lifestyle as well as an urban daily life.
For brands and retailers, this means that menswear can increasingly be conceived in terms of lifestyle and combinations. The Pinterest search data is not a direct indicator of sales. Instead, it shows which themes and aesthetics are currently gaining attention. Nevertheless, clear signals for menswear can be derived from it.
